Features

The Check Terms feature supports the Maintenance process in the Management Workflow.

A project administrator may select a TextBase and execute a process to compare a custom or updated ontology, encapsulated as the Term entity in an SQL file, with that TextBase.  The Check Terms feature compares the values in the Term entity in that TextBase with the values in a custom or updated Term entity and reports on any Term variations that might impact on the edition substrates or analysis strata implemented in that TextBase.

The Home feature provides access to basic portal features (My TextBases, Shared TextBases, Reports and Import Image) and the corpus development workflow features (Strata Management, Text Aggregation, Text Alignment and Text Cubing).

If the logged in user is a project administrator, access is provided to advanced portal features Check Terms, Import Database and Upgrade TextBase which support the Management Workflow.

The Import Database feature allows a project administrator to import a READ database, as an SQL archive, from another READ installation.  The Import Database feature supports the Import process in the Management Workflow.

The Import Image feature allows a user to upload and manage images on the Workbench server for a nominated TextBase.  The Import Image feature supports the Image process in the Management Workflow.

The My TextBases feature allows a user to access and manage their own TextBases.  The My TextBases feature supports the View and Rendition processes in the Access Workflow, the Version and Secure processes in the Management Workflow and the Access process in the Strata Management.

The Shared TextBases feature supports the View and Rendition processes in the Access Workflow, the Secure process in the Management Workflow and the Access process in the Strata Management.    The Shared TextBases feature allows a user to access TextBases that have been shared with them.

The Strata Management feature allows a user to share an edition for editing or analysis.  The Strata Management feature supports the Mapping, Generation, Validation, Share and Manage processes in the Strata Management workflow.

Text Aggregation feature allows a user to identify constituent TextBases and generate either a sequenced, mapped or merged aggregate TextBase.  The Text Aggregation feature supports the Mapping, Aggregation and Validation processes in the Text Aggregation workflow.

Text Alignment feature allows a user to iteratively generate TextBases in order to align text and image to establish an edition substrate.  The Text Alignment feature supports the Generation, Regeneration and Validation processes in the Text Alignment workflow.

The Text Cubing feature allows a user to clone an edition and release that edition to the ownership of another user.  The Text Cubing feature supports the Release and Cloning processes in the Text Cubing workflow.

Users may select a TextBase and execute an SQL file against that TextBase.  The feature is designed to allow project administrators to upgrade TextBases from a supplied SQL file.  The feature may be used for any database upgrade occasioned by changes to READ database schema, code or Terms.  Used in tandem with the Check Terms feature, the Upgrade TextBase feature is used to implement new Terms upon resolution of any Term inconsistencies.  The Upgrade TextBase feature supports the Maintenance process in the Management Workflow.
